Desperate House Dogs

This blog was originally intended to be a business blog for our T-Shirt Screen Printing business "Shirt Happens Ink" where we would share technical knowledge as well as answer any type of screen printing questions people may have, until Tigger (the shop's mascot) found out what we were doing. Needless to say it has now become a forum for all the desperate house dogs out there who wish to have a voice of their own.

I'M BACK......

Yes, it's been a while since I posted but it has been very busy around here lately and it's like the old saying goes...." a dog's work is never done" . First of all my brother Tye, the 17 year old Golden Retriever was very sick and we were not sure if he was going to make it. He had to go to the doctors because he had been up all night one night very sick and he had become dehydrated and he wasn't eating and they had to give him an intravenous with medicine to make him feel better. The doctor told us that it didn't look good and we may have to make a decision that we were not ready to make. We brought him home and prayed for his recovery and we had to watch him very carefully but THANK GOD he recovered and is doing very well. I was very worried!!! If anybody out there has any stories they would like to share about their older dogs we would love to hear about them!!!

The Daytona 500 was last Sunday and Jeff Gordon won. Jeff gordon is not my favorite race car driver but I was very happy for him. Better than that Tony Stewart winning.

The Academy Awards are this Sunday and I just love watching the celebrities arrive on the red carpet and then hoping that they make great big fools of themselves on live TV. I hope I have a lot to talk about on Monday!!! Enough said about that.

Tigger's Screen Printing Tip of the day: When contacting a Screen Printing Company for a quote make sure that you know how many T-Shirts you would like to order, the color of the T-Shirts, how many colors you would like printed in your custom logo and the number of screen printing locations on the shirts. This will aide in a quicker response to your request. Remember that Microsoft Word is not a Graphics Program!

Pardon the Interruption

Yes, I'm Back! I apologize for not sharing with you yesterday but I was glued in front of the television last night and could not move. No, I wasn't watching American Idol or CSI or even ESPN, I was watching the most exciting moment in television history....."The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show"!!!!!!!! Last night they named Best in Show. It is the canine equivalent of the Academy Awards. All the Desperate House Dogs all over the world get all dressed up and throw parties to watch the event. It went to a 5 Year old German Shorthaired Pointer named Carlee. I was rooting for the Bloodhound but as they say, may the Best Dog Win.

They announced today that the 2004-2005 NHL Hockey Season has been cancelled. You mean I don't get to watch grown men on skates beat each other till bloody for a year? Well, enough said about that.

My mom thinks I'm too fat so she wants to start a "Pawlates" class for all the dogs in the neighborhood. Yeah, there's another million dollar idea. A bunch of dogs in one area in sweat clothes standing around sniffing each others butts for an hour. Well, that's what we do.

Tigger's Screen Printing Tip of the Day: Compare the price between an order of good quality Custom Screen Printed T-Shirts and a week of newspaper advertising for your company. You know that a T-Shirt with your Custom Logo screen printed on it will definitely be seen by hundreds, possibly thousands of people each day the shirt is worn and does not get thrown out in the recycle bin after a week. T-shirts can last for years and each time the shirts are worn your company is advertised. Now that's an investment worth making!!

WOMAN-Word Of Mouth Advertising & Networking for Women Owned Businesses

Just for today I would like to talk to all the women out there who own businesses and have websites for their businesses that would like to increase their sales without having to spend a lot of money on advertising. Every business owner wants to get their company's name out there. Well I think I might have the answer. And its all FREE!!!!!

An on-line networking forum for women only, who refer it's members businesses to their customers, friends, relatives, veterinarians and so on.

Now this idea is just in the beginning stages but I'm thinking maybe a link exchange program between sites and referral credits towards services or merchandise when someone refers a customer who actually buys something from the merchant who was referred.

I am a screen printing dog but I also like to shop! Wouldn't it be great if I didn't have to sit in front of my computer for hours searching for just the right business if I already know of one to contact.

So I'm asking all of the women out there that are interested in getting in on this to please email me at platen1@earthlink.net or post to this blog and lets just see how big this can get!!!

I promise! My next post will be about my life not business.

Tigger's Screen Printing Tip of the Day: "Remember, to keep costs down on your order, the less colors in your design the less expensive your set-up fees will be."

Aaaaaahhhh Sundays!!!!!!!

I just love Sundays! They are the "I don't have to run days". My typical Sunday consists of waking up anytime I want in the morning only to have a bowl of my favorite dog food waiting for me. I then go outside to do my duty, check out the neighborhood and then head back inside for my pre-afternoon nap, nap. What a life! I usually wake up sometime around noon to go back outside and do my duty again. It is usually pretty peaceful if the yappy Boston Terrier in the backyard is not out also. My sister Pepper and ******(name withheld) go at it everyday by the fence without one of them giving in a bit. I think he has an inferiority complex because he always has to have the last bark. I'm thinking about calling the Pet Physic on that one. He is only one of many dogs I will be introducing you to in the coming days and weeks.

I don't get golf. More importantly I don't understand how people can get excited watching golf. My owners will even cheer sometimes when somebody puts the little white ball into the hole. Oh well, if thats what makes them happy!

My favorite sport is Hot Dog Eating competitions. Now thats a sport!

The Grammy Awards are on TV tonight. Enough said about that.

Well it's about time for my late afternoon pre early evening nap. Tomorrow is another working day in the Screen Printing shop. A dog's work is never done.

Always remember all of the T-Shirts at www.shirthappensink.com are Fat Free and Low Carb!!

Tigger's Screen Printing Tip of the Day -When considering having T-Shirts printed for your company, group or family reunion, lighter colored T-shirts always cost less than darker colored T-Shirts.

If you build it they will come.....

Well here it is my own blog!
I would like to introduce myself to the blogging society as the first Screen Printing Dog who will share my opinions on current events, fashion, movies, music and of course all the "dirty little secrets" of the other Desperate House Dogs in my neighborhood (and there is plenty of dirt there to share with you) and oh yeah, information concerning Custom Printed T-shirts and answering any questions you may have on any of these subjects.

Here is a little background about myself: I am a 14 Year old Basset Hound with a brother Tye a sixteen year old Golden Retriever and a sister Pepper an 11 year old mutt. I was an abused animal in the early part of my life until my owners rescued me and have taken great care of me since.

I will share with you the many experiences I have had in my life (ask me about where I used to live, Children of the Corn?) my daily excursions and oh yeah tips on how to get your design printed on T-Shirts (I had to include that or my owners won't let me have a blog) so check back with me daily to see what I've been up to.

Till tomorrow.....

Just another Desperate House Dog
